In October of 1994 Peter established Proteus Performance Management Inc. to provide specialized Pension Governance, Performance Measurement and Investment Manager Search to mid-sized Canadian Pension Plans.

In 1992 Peter accepted the position of Eastern Regional Director of the London Capital Management Group, the investment management subsidiary of the London Life Insurance Company. Responsibilities included marketing and client service of pooled and segregated fund management for Canadian Pension Plans.

From 1984 to 1992 Peter was Manager of Employee Benefits and Pension Products for one of Canada’s leading providers. Peter was involved with new business development as well as client service responsibilities for employee benefit and pension plans.

Peter graduated from Trent University in 1984 with a degree in Economics.

Having gained experience in many and diverse business skills in the retail environment, Gord joined Proteus in 1997 to bring his professionalism and business experience to the mid-sized Canadian pension plan sponsor community delivering Pension Governance, Performance Measurement and Investment Manager Search.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario in 1987 with a Bachelors degree in Economics, Gord continued his studies at Queen's University to receive an MBA in 1991.

After graduation, Gord accepted a position in the operations department of national retailer Lewiscraft Limited. Beginning in a traditional sales management function Gord advanced quickly to National Sales Manager with a sales staff of eight regional marketing managers responsible for a total of six hundred retail employees across Canada. From sales and marketing, Gord wished to broaden his skills in business operations and within two years was promoted to Vice President Operations of Lewiscraft with budgeting responsibilities of $35 million and a mandate to open five superstores nationally.

Jeff has been in the group pension business for over 22 years with consulting and business development experience for both capital accumulation and defined benefit plans. Prior to joining Proteus, Jeff worked with a major insurance company in the Toronto market whose core business was Group Savings - Jeff was responsible for both business growth and client relationship management.

Jeff is an Economics graduate from the University of Western Ontario (1984)

Andrew Smith recently became associated with Proteus Performance Management where he will be involved with specific client projects and ongoing relationships.

Andrew has over 40 years of experience in the financial services sector. He began his career at National Trust in 1963 and held increasingly senior positions until his departure in 1984 at which time he was Vice-President, Investments. In 1985, he joined James P. Marshall, Inc., a small institutional investment consulting firm which he helped to build into a top-rated competitor with large global firms. In 2004, he established his own consulting practice (Natnook Inc.) with a focus on assisting organizations in achieving their financial and investment goals.

Andrew has extensive experience in working with defined benefit and defined contribution pension funds, foundations, insurance companies and public entities. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and has earned the Certified Director (ICD.D) designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is active in the pension investment industry and is Chair of two municipal pension boards.

Having joined Proteus in 2001, Ryan brings a background in both finance and information systems and has taken an active role in the day-to-day servicing of clients needs, investment manager due diligence, research, evaluation and reporting. He also has assumed responsibility for the technology activities and infrastructure that have helped increase the efficiency of client support activities at Proteus.

Ryan graduated from Brock University with a First Class Honours Degree in Computing and Business (BCB) in 2001. Ryan has continued his education by completing the Canadian Securities Course (Honours) and has completed the requirements for the Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designation offered by Dalhousie University and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans.

Ryan has spent time in various types of positions dealing with both retirement plans and information systems. He has worked in the marketing department of the Group Pensions division of a major Canadian life insurance company and also gained exposure to many different technologies while working in the IT department of a major Canadian paper manufacturer.

Glenn joined Proteus as an Analyst in September 2007.

Glenn received a Combined Honours Degree in Political Science and Economics (BAH) from The University of King's College/Dalhousie University (2003). He has continued his education by completing the Canadian Securities Course (Honours) and he is currently a Level II candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.

Glenn gained experience as Vice President (Finance) for the student unions of both the University of King's College and Dalhousie University where he was responsible for the budgeting and financial management of all student activities and business operations. He has also worked as a personal account manager at a major Canadian bank. Most recently, he provided trade support in the trading operations of a major Canadian asset manager.
